  The branch manager Karen is extremely rude! When trying to address an issue she speaks to you as though you are nothing and she holds ALL the power. CIBC in general is an awful bank. When your trying to better yourself they will not be there to help you do that but rather make in next to impossible to move ahead!

  The few times I have been, the branch staff are pleasant and helpful. Coffee is great and I like that they have an information desk at the front, where you can ask questions and sometimes avoid lining up to ask a teller. One staff member in particular, Mr. Steel, was extremely helpful and considerate regarding a very personal matter and his professionalism and empathy shined through. Thank you.

  Tried to get a personal LOC setup to consolidate debt, they ended up not telling me and sending $8000 dollars (which was alotted to pay a car loan) to an NSLSC account, which was a non-issue and the person helping me there agreed at the time, only to change her mind later and ruin me financially. When I became worried that the money had not yet been applied to the car loan, she went on to tell me it just takes time and to be patient everytime I asked, and about a month later admitted she had sent it to the NSLSC instead without notifying me, leaving me in a much worse financial situation then I had started. They left the onus on me to solve the issue, I feel scammed. This institution is run very poorly and if you want to take care of your finances I would strongly advise never considering them!

  The customer service behaves as if you owe them something, they ignore things that you ask and speak amongst themselves. I know cibc is not like this as i have been to many branches and have had nothing but good things to say, however it seems as if this bank needs new manegment and more consultants since you have to book a meeting and cant walk in.
