Excellent birding here, particularly for winter water birds. The main problems are that non-residents of Barrie must pay exhorbitant prices for parking and there are no washroom facilities open in the fall/winter/spring. In the summer the city sets off loud bangs to scare away Canada Geese.

Nice park that is popular among locals with a small beach, two volleyball fields, lots of tall trees with shade and a pavilion in case it rains. There are also amenities. Barbecues are allowed in the park. You can park a car on the paid parking (free for Barrie residents), or just up the street 200 meters away and take a short walk from there.

At the time we went on a mid morning on Saturday it was nice and quiet. Beautiful well kept park by the lake. Has a covered structure there that seems like the space can be rented from the city for events.
